Eliza PETERSEN, wife of Sir Richard DINZEY, died on the 08th of December 1886 in Gustavia. She was born in Sint-Eustatius on the 21st of April 1802.

Below is the list of her properties prepared by her her son Richard Burton DINZEY in June 1887, showing how it was divided amongst her children.

Using the old Swedish Cadastre (and with the HUGE help and assistance of Arlette MAGRAS) i have put them on maps. Those are properties she either bought herself or got in her name at the death of her husband in 1860 (i will prepare the same for his properties).

As you will realize, that was a rather sizeable amount of property she had.

Eliza PETERSEN, épouse de Sir Richard DINZEY est décédé le 08 décembre 1886 à Gustavia. Elle était née le 21 avril 1802 sur l’île de Saint-Eustache.

Ci-dessous la liste des lots dont elle était propriétaire dans l’inventaire partage dressé par son fils Richard Burton DINZEY. Avec l’ancien cadastre Suédois (et j’en profite ici pour remercier une fois de plus ‘Arlette Magras pour son aide et son assistance ! ) je les ai indiquées sur les cartes.

Ce sont des propriétés qu’elle avait acquises en son nom, ou qu’elle avait reçues à la mort de son mari en 1860.

Comme vous pourrez vous rendre compte, c’était un beau patrimoine..

LOT 47 – QUARTER « MARSEILLESE »

(Actuellement emplacement du Bar de l’Oubli).

Purchased by Richard DINZEY on the 5th of July 1845 from Peter PETERSEN (a brother of Eliza). Not sure why but the PETERSEN lost all their properties, many of wich where purchased by Richard DINZEY. Eliza was received the property on the 15th of February 1875.

Acheté par Richard DINZEY le 05 juillet 1845 à Peter PETERSEN (un frère d’Eliza). Je ne sais pas pourquoi, mais les PETERSEN perdent leur propriétés, et beaucoup son rachetées par Richard DINZEY. Eliza en devient propriétaire le 15 fevrier 1875.

LOTS 261, 262 et 611 – « QUARTERET PEROT »

(en gros où se trouvent le crédit agricole, le Brigantin et le quai en face)

Lot 261 and 262 were both purchased by Richard DINZEY on the 13th of November 1821 from the John Joseph CREMONY Estate (a riche merchant born in Napoli in Italia and deceased on the 15th of August 1821). Eliza PETERSEN got the ownership on the 15th of February 1875. I believe lot 611, the wharf, was attached with lot 262.

Les lots 261 et 262 sont achetés par Richard DINZEY le 13 novembre 1821 de la succession John Joseph CREMONY (un riche marchand né à Naples en Italie et décédé le 15 aout 1821). Eliza PETERSEN en devient propriétaire le 15 fevrier 1875. Je pense que le lot 611 était attaché au lot 262).

LOT 317 –  « QUARTERET HWARFVET »

Purchased in auction by Richard DINZEY on the 15th of January 1853, Eliza became owner on the 15th of February 1875.

Acheté aux encheres par Richard DINZEY le 15 janvier 1853, Eliza en devient propriétaire le 15 fevrier 1875.

LOTS 425, 425 1/2 – « QUARTERET GODET »

(A la pointe derriére les dépots Barnes)

Lot 425 was purchased on auction by Richard DINZEY on the 5th of December 1851 and lot 425 1/2 the next day. Eliza became owner on the 15th of February 1875.

Le lot 425 est acheté le 05 décembre 1851 par Richard DINZEY, le lot 425 1/2 le lendemain. Eliza en devient propriétaire le 15 fevrier 1875.

LOTS 364,  371 – « QUARTERET BESWARET »

(En gros à gauche et mi-chemin de la rue qui monte à la gendarmerie depuis la Pointe)

Both lots are purchased on auction by Richard DINZEY (estate ?) on the 18th of January 1873 and Eliza became owner on the 15th of february 1873.

Les deux lots sont achetés par Richard DINZEY le 18 janvier 1873 (je ne comprends pas la date) et Eliza en devient proprietaire le 15 fevrier 1873.

LOTS 487, 489 , 509 – « QUARTERET TUMLAREN »

( bordant la glissière de la Poste, en face du Crédit Agricole et du Brigantin)

Lot 487 and 509 purchased by Richard DINZEY on the 13th of November 1821 from the J.J. CREMONY ESTATE, Eliza became owner on the 15th of February 1873

Lot 489 purchased by Eliza PETERSEN on the 16th of September 1875 from Jean Baptiste LAGOIS. She gave it to two of her daughters, Eliza and Anna DINZEY on the 18th of May 1880.
